Gussie Amelia Landry

Funeral services will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, January 22, 2007 at 3:00 pm at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Gussie Amelia Landry, 96, who passed away Friday, January 19, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. The Very Reverend Monsignor Harry Benefiel will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Readers will be Kevin Caswell and Jamie Landry Waguespack. Gift bearers will be Denise Caswell Cope, Lori Landry Kelmar and Elizabeth Caswell. Accompanying the gift bearers will be Chiya Landry Ewald and Chelsi Landry. Musical selections will be provided by Linda Mizelle Kidd, Lauri Mizelle Gilder, Don Mizelle and Malcolm Domingue. Eucharistic Minister will be Mary Ann Rodemacher Lavergne. Interment will take place in St. John Cemetery. Mrs. Landry, a native of Amelia and a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Gustave Augustus Rodemacher of Germany and the former Rosa Elizabeth Broussard of Vinton, La. She was a member of the Cathedral Altar Society and St. John's Rosary Group. Survivors include one daughter, Judy Caswell and husband, Jim; one son, Ted Landry; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Landry; eight grandchildren, Kevin Caswell, Scott Caswell, Denise Caswell Cope, Jamie Landry Waguespack, Lori Landry Kelmar, Jeff Landry, Chiya Landry Ewald and Chelsi Landry; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, A. Dennis Landry; two sons, A. Dennis Landry, Jr. (infant) and Kent R. Landry; one grandson, James R. Caswell, Jr.; and three brothers, Curtis Rodemacher, Donner Rodemacher and Morgan Rodemacher. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Sunday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue Monday from 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited Monday at 10:30 am by the St. John Cathedral Ladies Altar Society and St. John Rosary Group. Pallbearers will be James R. Caswell, Kevin Caswell, Scott Caswell, Jeff Landry, Mike Cope, Robby Waguespack and Brandon Kelmar.
