Hascal R. Hardy

A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2024 in Delhomme Funeral Home - Chapel of the Flowers for Hascal R. Hardy, 89, who passed away on February 6, 2024. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Chapel of the Flowers on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the time of service. A reception and gathering will take place following the service at St. Jules Catholic Church Community Hall, 116 St. Jules St, Lafayette, LA. Reverend Gregory Chauvin, Pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Mrs. Hardy, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Emile Robicheaux and the former Ophelia Collins. Married in 1952, Hascal and Irby shared many adventures, travels and friendships. She was a proud United States Air Force wife. They retired in 1975 from the Air Force and returned to Louisiana. They settled in Lafayette 45 years ago to be near family and friends. Hascal was an incredible woman who loved her family deeply. Her joy and passion was spending time with her family. She spent her life devoted to helping others through many charitable works within the community. Her generosity was unparalleled. She was a great friend and neighbor to many amazing people. She had an enormous capacity to love and remained faithful to the Lord, Jesus Christ. She will be missed and remembered by many. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Irby Joseph Hardy; son Cyrus James Hardy, daughter Cydne Hardy Cooley and husband Bruce Cooley, and son C. Shannon Hardy and wife Joanna; grandchildren Corey Hardy and partner Hana Sacek, Austin Cooley, Olivia Hardy and fiancé Michael Carmouche, Bryce Hardy and wife Madelynn, Samantha Hardy, Camille Cooley Pagan and husband Kyle, Cooper Hardy and wife Grace, and Deuce Hardy; and a new great granddaughter, Emilia Marie Pagan. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to thank Leeanna Bourda and Mary Broussard for their compassionate care.
