Honorine Dartez Babineaux

Funeral services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 17, 2006 in the Delhomme Scott Chapel for Honorine 'Loraine' Dartez Babineaux, 92, who passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2006 . Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lafayette. Rev. George Simon, will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the services. Mrs. Babineaux, the daughter of the late Alcide Bergeron and the former Mary LeJeune was a native of Eunice and a resident of Lafayette. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Everyone will miss her feisty personality and her ability to make us laugh. Survivors include one daughter, Yvonne D. Hanks and husband, Willard of Lafayette, one step-son, Caroll Dartez of Lafayette; three grandchildren and their spouses, Monty and Alyce Hanks, Ryan and Paulette Hanks, Jake and Suzanne Hanks; five great-grandchildren, Addie, Cathryn, Ella, Sam and Jeanne and a special cousin, Annie Lou LeJeune. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Rene J. Dartez; her second husband, Essie Babineaux; four sisters, Yvonne Manuel, Mattie Douget, Teresa Verret and Helena LeDoux; one brother, Joseph 'L.B.' Bergeron; three step-sons, Malcolm, Ray and Roland Dartez. The family would like to give thanks to the staff at Magnolia Estates, they all touched Mrs. Honorine's life in some way. With special thanks to Teresa Huntsberry for her special care she gave Mrs. Honorine, she was their special Angel. Thanks also to Dr. Darren Menard, Pat Richard, Dee Patin and Hospice of Acadiana, the road would have been a lot harder without them. Visiting hours will be observed on Thursday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and will continue on Friday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm at the funeral home in Scott. Pallbearers will be Monty Hanks, Ryan Hanks, Jake Hanks.
