Ida Mary Naomi Collette

Funeral services will be held at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 19, 2008 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Ida Mary Naomi Collette, 90, who passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Kingsley Place. Reverend Curtis Mallet, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Ida, the daughter of the late George Naomi of Beirut Lebanon and the former Zoe' Barkate of LaKita Syria, was a longtime resident of Lafayette, LA. She loved to travel and be with her family. She worked at Sears for 45 1/2 years. Ida received employee of the year with Sears and won a trip to Chicago to see the Sears Tower. She also won the excellent award. She was known to never meet a stranger. She will be remembered for her willingness to help everyone. She will be deeply missed by everyone. Survivors include two daughters, Zoe' Joslin and husband, Lloyd of West Monroe, LA, and Deborah Angelle and husband, L.J. of Lafayette, LA; six grandchildren, Robin Meredith and husband, Daryl, Lance Joslin and wife, Angie, Mandy Joslin, Nancy LeBlanc and husband, Shane, Kevin Angelle and wife, Crystal, Amiee Domingue and husband, Shannon; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Jeanette Norse of Jacksonville, FL, and Eulaie Broussard of Broussard, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Collette; daughter, Barbara Collette; three sisters, Evelyn Munro, Florida Abdella, and Georgette Cormier; and one brother, Alcide Naomi. The family requests visiting hours be observed on Friday from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and continue on Saturday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited Friday at 5:00 pm in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kevin Angelle, Shane LeBlanc, Shannon Domingue, Lance Joslin, Daryl Meredith, and Anthony Meredith. The family would like to thank Dr. Nathan Landry, Lafayette General Medical Center, Our Lady of Lourdes, her caregivers, and Hospice Care of Louisiana for the wonderful care they gave our mother. The family would especially like to thank Kingsley Place for all the love, kindness and compassion they gave to our mother. We will always remember and love you.
