Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, Irene P. Bordeaux, 81, who passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Pelican Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Maurice. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum. Reverend William Schambough, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. She is survived by her two sons, Richard Maloney and his wife Vickie and Danny Bordeaux and his wife Andrea; five granddaughters, Crystal Maloney, Courtney Blair and her husband Randy, Amy Bordeaux, Kristina Bordeaux and Laura Williams; three great granddaughters, Kailey Blair, Lacey Blair and Sarah Blair; and five siblings, Evelyn Menard and her husband Russell, Paul Patin and his wife Liz, Ronnie Patin and his wife Glory, Kenneth Patin and Mickey Patin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dickie Bordeaux; parents, Rufus and Regina Patin; and two brothers, Harry Patin and Rufus Patin, Jr. Mrs. Bordeaux was born in Broussard on September 21, 1932 and was a longtime resident of Milton. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1950 and USL (now ULL) in May of 1970 with a Master's Degree in Education. She was a school teacher for many years and taught kindergarten at Milton Elementary School for several years before retiring. She enjoyed teaching French to her young students and inspiring them to learn. Mrs. Bordeaux also loved traveling, delicious food, sweet treats, music, dancing and good conversation with friends and family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family requests that visiting hours be observed in Delhomme Funeral Home in Maurice on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Richard Maloney, Danny Bordeaux, Paul Patin, Mickey Patin, Harry Patin, Jr. and Charles Menard. The family would like to thank the staff at Pelican Pointe and Community Hospice Care, especially her nurse, Cheryl Trahan, for providing wonderful care for Mrs. Bordeaux.
