James Larry Hebert

Memorial services will be held for James 'Larry' Hebert, Sr., 63, at Delhomme Funeral Home in Maurice, LA at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 3rd, 2007. Mr. Hebert died at 10:14 pm Monday, January 22nd at Chino Valley Medical Center in Chino, California after fighting a 13 year battle with stroke, paralysis and several heart attacks. Interment will be at St. Alphonsus Mausoleum in Maurice, LA where he will be laid to rest with his father, Deusar Hebert. Deacon Chris Mouton will conduct the Memorial service. Musical selections will be provided by Valerie Andrus. The songs will be 'Amazing Grace', 'How Great Thou Art', 'Just A Closer Walk With Thee', 'You Are Mine', and 'Go Rest High on the Mountain'. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Olita 'Anne' (Broussard), and their five children: James and wife Cindy Hebert of Simi Valley, CA; Tammy and husband Randy St. Julien of Vandenberg AFB, CA; Mona and husband Charles Ring of Chino Hills, CA; Vickie and husband Floyd Gonzalez of Walker, LA; and Matt and wife Melissa Hebert of Corsicana, TX. Mr. Hebert has twenty-two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and three foster children, Mark and Mike Hayes and Charles Pellerin of Lafayette, LA. He is also survived by his three brothers and three sisters, Audrey Leblanc of Abbeville, LA, Russell and wife Beverly Hebert of Abbeville, LA, Louis Hebert of Abbeville, LA, R. Pete and wife Phyllis of Lafayette, LA, Priscilla and husband Morris Peltier of New Iberia, LA, and Barbara and husband Alfred Palombo of Lafayette, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, Deusar Hebert; his mother, Unez Landry; and his brother, Roy Paul Hebert. A native of Lafayette, he lived in Lafayette and Scott area for almost sixty years. He then moved to Texas for two years and then to California over a year and a half ago. Mr. Hebert is home again where he will rest in peace. For 35 years Mr. Hebert was employed at Midas Muffler Shop on Bertrand Drive, where he was known to all as 'Doc.' Mr. Hebert will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
