Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024 in Delhomme Funeral Home - Maurice for James Kenneth Vincent, 78, who passed away on October 27, 2024. Deacon Art Bakeler will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Mausoleum - Milton. James had a wonderful sense of humor. He was full of jokes and kept everyone laughing, even during his final days. James enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing bouree, watching westerns (John Wayne & Clint Eastwood), and spending time at the racetrack watching the horse races. James was employed by Service Chevrolet in Sales for 37 years and thought of them as family. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. We will miss his humor, kindness and love for his family. He was truly a great man and will be missed by many. James, a resident of Broussard, was the son of the late Alcee Vincent and the former Agnes Broussard. He is survived by his children, Darren Chauvin, Courtney (Jenny) Vincent, Lacey (Darren) Choplin, and Blake Vincent; grandchildren, Rylan Choplin, Peyton Choplin, Luke Vincent, and Jules Vincent, two brothers, Jules (Earline) Vincent and Robert (Debbie) Vincent; and sister-in-law Sandra Vincent. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Bernice Vincent Picard, Bertha Vincent (George) Domec, Ophe (Maureen) Vincent, Nicholas (May) Vincent, Francis Vincent, Preston Vincent and Roy (Ruby) Vincent. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Maurice on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 8:30 AM until the time of service. In Jim’s memory, please wear your Hawaiian shirt, if you have one. The family would like to invite everyone to a celebration of life immediately following the burial services. The celebration will be held at the Milton Civic Center (100 Civic Ln, Lafayette, LA 70508). Food will be served, please bring your own beverages. Pallbearers will be Courtney Vincent, Blake Vincent, Rylan Choplin, Peyton Choplin, Darren Choplin and Jonathon Vincent.
