Jéan Charles Cummins

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 9, 2026 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church - Broussard for Jéan Charles Cummins, 70, who passed away at his residence on January 5, 2026. Reverend Michael Delcambre, Pastor, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Mausoleum - Broussard. Jéan was first and foremost a family man through and through. His children were his greatest achievement and a product of his love and sacrifice. He steadfastly loved his wife Ana Maria for 37 years. He most recently cherished his almost 2 years as being a "PawPaw" to his grandson Robbie. He is remembered for the everyday kind acts and generosity for those he loved. He would give you the shirt off his back and the car keys in his pocket. He was an avid outdoorsman, mostly because it meant time spent and memories made with the ones he loved. He leaves behind his athlete and hunting dog, Sadie, whom he cared for deeply. No one could enter a room and not have left friends with Jéan. In the later years of his career and life he was passionate about being a mentor to those younger than him, both in the HVAC industry and in life. Although, he suffered many health challenges in his later years, he never complained or gave up. He put on a brave face in order to be present with those around him. His last act of selflessness, an inspiration to us all. Jéan, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Robert Lee Cummins, Sr. and the former Mildred Hebert. He is survived by his wife, Ana Maria Cummins; children, Alex Cummins and wife, Emme and Christina Zamora and husband, Kevin; grandson, Robbie Cummins; siblings, Robert L. "Butch" Cummins, Jr., Terri Cormier, Candace Gilbert, Shawn Cummins, and Tracy Cummins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Karen "Kit" Cummins and Christine "Chris" C. Freese, and brother, Patrick "Pat" Dale Cummins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Our Lady of Lourdes Foundation or Acadiana Animal Aid. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Delhomme Funeral Home Reception Center – Bertrand.
