A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 10, 2025 in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church for Johanna Dischler Dupré, 95, who passed away on July 5, 2025. Fr. Kyle White, Pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. The burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Johanna, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Joseph Dischler and the former Louise Fontenot. Johanna was an avid writer, painter, and seamstress. Her life was a testament to sacrificial love - raising 8 children and always putting the needs of others before her own. Johanna was faith-filled and lived out that faith every day in her devotion to Christ, Our Lady, and the Church. She is survived by her children, Louise D. (Patrick) Logan, Beth D. (Craig) Cancienne, Eddie Dupré, Joan D. (Jim) Craft, Annette D. (Rickey) Menard, Becky D. (Ted) Vincent, Matthew (LaRae Cox) Dupré, Molly D. (Ted) Daigle; grandchildren, Renee T. (Michael) Box, Craig (Anne-Marie) Cancienne, Jr., Brent (Courtney) Cancienne, Laura C. (Vincent) Cangiamilla, Stacey D. (Tommy) Heidbrink, Amy C. (Toby) Peltier, Ross (Dana) Craft, Beau (Andrea) Craft, Loretta M. (Kris) Heggelund, Betsy Menard, Christopher (Kellie) Vincent, Claire V. (Carlos) Alvarez, Reid Dupré, Max Daigle, Gabriel (Evelyn Morrison) Daigle, Samuel (Caroline Martin) Daigle, John Thomas Daigle, Mary Grace Daigle, Peter Daigle, Michael Daigle and Brian Logan; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Edmond E. Dupré Jr.; grandson, Rickey Menard; great-grandson, Archer Craft; her parents, Joseph and Louise Dischler; and daughter-in-law, Roxanne Dupre, deceased wife of Eddie. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM. The Pallbearers will be Craig Cancienne Jr., Ross Craft, Beau Craft, Christopher Vincent, Reid Dupré, Max Daigle, Gabriel Daigle, and Samuel Daigle. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Brent Cancienne, John Thomas Daigle, Peter Daigle, and Michael Daigle. The family would like to thank Kelly Menard, Christine Angelle, Taylor with Right-At-Home, Erica and Maxine with Amedisys Hospice, and Eva Domingue for the compassionate care given to our mother.
