John Cecil Rabalais

Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00AM on Monday, November 19, 2018 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mr. John Cecil Rabalais, 82, who passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his family. Fr. Brian Taylor, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery with military graveside honor presented by the United States Army. Cecil, as he was affectionately known by everyone, was a resident of Lafayette. He was the son of the late Elmo Rabalais and the former Ona Bordelon. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Cecil was a Maintenance Supervisor for Teurlings Catholic High School and St. Genevieve Catholic Schools. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed working with his hands. Cecil enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time at his camp. He was a compassionate man, generous with his time and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lucille Maddie Rabalais; children; Charlotte Rabalais, David Rabalais and companion Angie Soileau, Stacy Perrodin and husband Mitch; grandson whom he raised as a son, Chase Richard; grandchildren, Brittany LeBlanc and husband Isaac, Kristin DesOrmeaux, Nicholas Rabalais, MacKenzie Perrodin, Chloe Rabalais, Ryker Perrodin; great granddaughter, Sloane LeBlanc; and one sister, Inez Rabalais Villar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmo and Ona Rabalais; two daughters, Denise Richard and Michelle Rabalais; one grandson, Noah Perrodin; and son-in-law, Arnold “Chuck” Mury, III. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 2:00PM to 9:00PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00PM on Sunday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Monday from 8:00AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be David Rabalais, Chase Richard, Bryan Richard, Mitch Perrodin, Isaac LeBlanc and Nicholas Rabalais.
