John Gerald Thibodeaux

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2025 in Our Saviors Church for John Gerald Thibodeaux, 85, who passed away on January 7, 2025. Pastors Jacob Aranza and Chris Reis will conduct the funeral services. The burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. John had an entrepreneurial spirit. He was owner/operator of several businesses that include an Esso and Texaco service station, Thibodeaux Marine Service, and Gerald's Tree Farm in Youngsville. He was a cattle rancher of Santa Gertrudis Cattle Breed. John was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Lafayette and was a member of several associations including Gideon's International, board member of Pregnancy Center, Lafayette, Louisiana Cattleman Association but most of all he was a strong pro life activist and instrumental in Save the Unborn Club. Mr. Thibodeaux, a resident of Youngsville, was the son of the late John Ashton Thibodeaux and the former Marie Antoinette Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Trudy Boudreaux Thibodeaux; children, Ricky J. Thibodeaux and wife, Sandy Miller Thibodeaux, Gregory Thibodeaux and wife, Chrisye Indah Thibodeaux, Chris A. Thibodeaux and wife, Jeanine and Terri Thibodeaux Pascual; three step children, Myra Faye Knott and husband, Kenneth, Andrea Artigue and husband, Gervis, and Michael Todd Angelle; 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren, and two sisters, Annie Marie Thibodeaux, and Linda Peltier and husband, Harvey D. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Betty Joyce Thibodeaux, and two step grandchildren, Devin Artigue and Sydni Angelle Penn. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Our Saviors Church, 1201 E. Broussard Rd. in Lafayette on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Ricky Thibodeaux, Gregory Thibodeaux, Chris Thibodeaux, Ashton Thibodeaux, Aubrey Thibodeaux, and Kameron Knott.
