Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 in Delhomme Funeral Home - Chapel of the Flowers for Jon Allan Alderman, 66, who passed away on February 4, 2025. Pastor Danny Hebert will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Alderman, a resident of Duson, was the son of the late Jesse Alderman and the former Peggy Faile. Jon, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in Lafayette, Louisiana. Born and raised in Plant City, Florida, Jon was a proud graduate of Florida State University, where he showcased his pitching skills on the baseball team. His passion for baseball began in his childhood, playing alongside his dad and brother. After graduation, he embarked on a new chapter in Lafayette, where he would spend the rest of his life. For 36 years, Jon dedicated his career to Coin and Treasure, turning his childhood hobby of coin and card collecting, inspired by his father, into a successful profession. He forged lifelong friendships with his colleagues and was a respected figure in the coin collecting community. In his leisure time, Jon enjoyed traveling to coin shows, sharing meals with friends, indulging his passion for collecting, and relaxing with classic Western movies. A true animal lover, Jon had a special fondness for cats, treating them as cherished members of his family. But above all else, Jon’s world revolved around his daughter, Kayla. Their bond was extraordinary, filled with cherished memories of playing sports together, exploring new destinations, and celebrating life’s milestones. He especially delighted in recently becoming a grandfather. Jon never hesitated to express his deep and unwavering love for Kayla. Known to many as "Coach Jon," he generously shared his passion for sports with the community, coaching for many years and leaving a lasting impact on countless young lives. Jon had a gift for connecting with people, his warm smile and playful jokes ensuring he "never met a stranger." His generosity and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. Jon will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his daughter, Kayla Blanchard and her husband, Zack; grandson, Michael Blanchard; brother, Jimmy Alderman; nephews, Justin, Joshua and Jonathan Alderman, and his former wife and best friend, Sarah Alderman. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Alderman, Zack Blanchard, Glen Vercher, Louis Pizzalotto, Hal Duval, and Dr. Craig Forsyth. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Blanchard, Broc Bergeaux and Arthur Brooks.
