Jon Michael Benoit

Jon Michael Benoit, 49, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20th, 2023. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 28 from 11:15 AM to 1:00 PM at St Joseph Catholic Church, Milton, LA. Father William Schambough, pastor, will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00pm. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There are few constants in life. A warm smile and welcoming hug were two such gestures a person meeting Jon Benoit were guaranteed to experience. He truly had the gift of making people in his presence feel loved. Jon was the youngest of six children. His special needs made his family even more eager to include him in all the family activities. Bowling was another one of his favorite pastimes. Through many hours of practice, he became a frequent winner of both local and state Special Olympic competitions. Jon was an avid fan of wrestling, a sport he frequently watched on television and in person. Jon even arm wrestled “The Rock” (Dwayne Johnson) and won! He was also a lifelong Michael Jackson fan and his energy was felt at every party, especially when he stepped on the dance floor. For several years, he worked at LARC, an organization his parents help to establish. He was also a former employee of Chick-fil-A. He is survived by his siblings, Martin "Marty" E. Benoit Jr (Linda), Larry J. Benoit, Toni B. Benoit (wife of David), Kay Benoit Knox (Steve), and Maria Benoit Cole (Todd); nephews and nieces, Nicholas Benoit, Lucas Benoit, Caleb Benoit, Derrek Benoit, Moniqué Benoit Contreras (Ricky), Corey Benoit (Leslie), Stefan Benoit (Christy), André Benoit (Hailey), Alex Bristow (Amy), Brigitte Bristow (fiancé-Clifford), Rachel Kahn, Lauren Kahn, Cohen Cole and Carson Cole; Great nephews and great nieces, Anthony Trujillo, Isaac Benoit, Emily Benoit, Jeremy Sessions, Amelia Contreras, Mason Contreras, Kai Benoit and Chloe Benoit. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Esteve “Steve” Benoit Sr. and Joyce McGuire Benoit. His brother David L. Benoit and his nephew Jordan A. Benoit. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Benoit, Lucas Benoit, Caleb Benoit, Derrek Benoit, Ricky Contreras, Corey Benoit, Stefan Benoit, Andre’ Benoit, Alex Bristow, Clifford Lee, Cohen Cole and Carson Cole. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the loving and supportive staff of Pelican Pointe Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility especially their attentiveness and graciousness they always extended to Jon.
