Joseph H. Landry, Jr.

A memorial service will be held Monday, April 17th at 1:00 PM in Delhomme Funeral Home - Chapel of the Flowers for Joseph H. Landry, Jr., who passed away, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at his residence in Lafayette surrounded by his family. The family requests that visitation will be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. until time of service, conducted by Father Louis Richard. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Maxine Cannon Landry; his son, Shane Allan Landry; and daughters, Leah Rae Landry and Amanda Erin Landry; and his much beloved grandson, Cannon Deville Schwegmann. Joseph is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who referred to him as “our rock”. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph H. Landry, Sr. and Gladys Babineaux; and one brother, Donald Charles Landry. Joseph was born June 8, 1945, in Lafayette Louisiana. He graduated from Teurlings High School, and attended USL (now UL Lafayette) where he earned a BS in Business Administration and Accounting, he also conducted Life Skills Training in Saskatchewan, Canada. He always strived to be the best in his field, he attended many other educational programs, earning additional degrees and certifications. Joseph was a good and faithful servant involved in the Catholic Church as a lay minister, Confirmation teacher, Bible studies, and many activities related to his faith family. Joseph loved all sports, but his passion was golf. He looked forward to his weekly golfing games with lifelong friends. He also enjoyed traveling, planning summer vacations with his family, and learning. He was a gentle, selfless man who put others first. He was always available for anyone at any time. His life was an example of service to God, family, friends, and associates. Thank you for your love and support, especially to Acadiana Hospice, family, friends, and all who reached out to help during this difficult time. He will be dearly missed and we are grateful God shared him with us. In lieu of flowers, any memorial gifts may be made in Joseph’s name to Acadiana Hospice, Hospice of Acadiana, or Miles Perret Cancer Services. Joseph H.
