Josephine Abboud Norse

Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 22, 2011 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Josephine Abboud Norse, 90, who passed away on September 18, 2011 at 5:45 am at her residence. Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Rosalie Arceneaux and Leah Arceneaux. Entombment will take place in Holy Mary Mother of God. Mrs. Norse, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Espare Abboud of Miniara, Lebanon and the former Saleema Chaoud of Miniara, Lebanon. She was a member of the Cedars Club. She is survived by one son, Philip Michael Norse, Jr. of Lafayette; one grandson, Michael Norse, Jr. and his wife, Shannon Daly Norse; four great grandchildren, Nicholas Michael, Katelyn Alex, Dylan Mathew, and Tyler Blake Daly; one sister-in-law, Sadie Abboud of Lafayette and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Philip Michael Norse, Sr.; one daughter, Shirley Mae Norse; one son, Michael Norse, Sr.; one daughter-in-law, Patsy Theresa Fontenot Norse; one sister, Lillian Abboud; four brothers, Albert, David, Jimmy and Wilson Abboud; one sister-in-law, Esther Wadette Abboud. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until the time of service. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Donald, Tommy, Jimmy, David, Danny and Richard Abboud. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Becky and Felicia Carmouche, Jalishia Brooks, Rynetta Charles and Jo Ann Bellard, also to St. Joseph Hospice and staff including Lanetta O'neal, Shanda Ardoin, Ellen Julian and Tammy Brooks.
