Juanita P. Hebert

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020, at 3:00 PM in Family Life Church, 2223 Dulles Drive, Lafayette, LA for Juanita Pendarvis Hebert, who passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at her daughter Judy’s residence in Duson, LA, surrounded by her loving family. Pastor Todd Menard of Family Life Church will conduct the funeral services. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Mrs. Hebert, was born to the late John B. and Jessie Gilbert Pendarvis in Wyatt, LA. A native of Sulpur, LA, Mrs. Hebert made her family home in Scott in 1971, when the oil industry transferred her late husband to the area. She was also involved in the oil industry for many years, having owned and operated Juanita Hebert Hot Shot and Trucking and MJ Escort Service, LLC. Those in the industry nicknamed her “Granny”. Mrs. Hebert was a member of Family Life Church. She was strong in her faith. She loved God. She loved her family! Always having time for them. She was a loving, caring, and amazing Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. When she hugged you, you knew you had been hugged! So much warmth and love flowing from her heart to her hugs. She was also a tough, strong, and determined woman when she needed to be. She was an accomplished horsewoman. She loved working in her flower garden, camping and traveling. She will be remembered for so many things, including her western attire of starched western shirts, jeans, rhinestone belts and cowboy boots to color-match every shirt. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Sandra Trahan (Wayne) and Judy Hebert (Bradley) of Duson, Alice Rivoire of Cankton and Loretta Chernosky (Darrell) of Needville, TX; her grandchildren, Mitzi Silvio (Tony), Nicholas Rivoire (Dori), Jennifer Shute (Dr. Creighton), Michael Trahan (Sarah) and Blayne Hebert; her great-grandchildren, Cole and Alyssa Walters, Alexandria, Caroline and Isabel Rivoire, Lily, Madison, Creighton, Charleigh, Alexander and Gabriel Shute and Peyton Trahan. She will also be missed by her sister, Faye Benoit of Riverside, TX; her brother, Henry Pendarvis of Carlyss, LA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester P. Hebert, Sr.; two infant sons that now she can hold; daughter, Jane Leger; grandson Brennam Hebert; granddaughter Emma Rivoire; brother, John Pendarvis; and sisters, Mary Castille and Grace Jones. Pallbearers will be Wayne and Michael Trahan, Bradley and Blayne Hebert, Cole Walters and John LeJeune. The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday, December 21, 2020, at Family Life Church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Compassus, especially Nurse Angela, Nurse Kaleb and CNA Lisa, for being respectful and loving in their care of mom.
