Judi Rhodes

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 19, 2015 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Judi Anderson Rhodes, 76, who passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2015. Reverend Brian Taylor, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church will preside over the service. Burial will take place at a later date in Ruston, LA Judi, a resident of Lafayette, LA was the daughter of the late L. Wayne Anderson and the former Jean M. Anderson Jones. Judi, was born in Peoria IL., was raised in Illinois and Kentucky then was married in 1958 and moved to Ruston, LA. She moved to Lafayette, LA in 1960 where she remained and considered her home. She worked at KATC TV 3 for forty one years wearing a variety of hats and retired in 2004. Judi believed there were no "Steps" in their family, and was so grateful to Roy for the wonderful family he shared with her. This family named her "MiMi" and she loved every minute of being "MiMi". She is survived by her loving husband of thirteen years, Roy K. Rhodes Jr.; her son Roy K. "Buddy" Rhodes, III and his wife Edie and their daughters, Katie Rhodes, Jennifer Luquette and her husband Brock, and their children, Jillian, Sophie and Gracie, Kelly Rhodes and Emily Thibodaux and her husband David and their children, Luke and Ellie Thibodaux. Her daughter, Kathy Sturdivant and her daughters, Shana Alverson and her fiance', Jonathan Beckner, Melissa Slappey and her husband Mike and their children, Maxwell, Jackson and Nixon and her four legged daughter, Mazi. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; her first husband, Robert B. Henderson; Roy's oldest son William M. Rhodes, Sr., and his son William M. Rhodes, Jr., and son-in-law LA Sturdivant. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deloris Shipley, Shirley Alexander, Judy Cox, Joleta Bishop, Lucille Briscoe, Joey Bernard, Cathy Schexnayder, Micki Singleton and Flo Hatcher. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 9:00 am until time of services. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503, St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Animal Rescue Foundation, 151 Domengeaux St, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517. Judi would like to thank Dr. Dwayne Brown and his staff, Dr. Francine Manuel and Dr. Jeffrey Chen for years of support and care.
