Kay Patin Powers

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, February 11, 2017 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Ms. Kay Patin Powers, 57, who passed away on February 8, 2017 at her residence after a long courageous battle with cancer. Reverend Patrick Broussard of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will conduct the funeral services. Reading from scripture will be Bonnie Hession and Laura LeBlanc. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. Kay, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Floyd Patin Sr. and the former Verna Breaux. Kay made her living as a senior registered client service associate at Raymond James Investment Firm. Outside of work, Kay was an avid adventurer who never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. Her thirst for life was infectious and she loved people, music, and traveling. She found her solace at the beach where she enjoyed snorkeling, scuba diving, and relaxing in the sun with friends. As a friend, Kay was fiercely loyal and had the ability to make everyone feel like they were truly special and loved. She is survived by her daughter, Danielle Ann Powers; long time companion, Neil Rae Hoffman; siblings, Buster Patin, Carolyn Patin, Susan Patin Crawford, Renee Patin Botts (Dennis) and Tammy Patin Rivoire; numerous nieces and nephews; Serella Castille and her loyal four-legged companions, Lexi and Sasha. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Floyd "Mickey" J. Patin Jr., former husband, John Jake Powers and one infant brother, William Patin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30pm on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday from 9:00am until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Neil Rae Hoffman, Buster Patin, Jeremiah Matthieu, Rick Bucher, Zachary Bucher, and James "Jimmy" Domengeaux. The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana, First Option Home Health, Dr. Michael Cain and Allison Bertrand for the outstanding care given to Kay. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay's honor can be made to Hospice of Acadiana or the Miles Perret Cancer Services.
