Kobi Castello Westbrook

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, April 10, 2023 in Family Life Church of Lafayette for Kobi Ann Castello Westbrook, 53, who went to be with her Lord & Savior on April 3, 2023. In honor of her life and legacy, the family asks that all wear their brightest, most vibrantly colored attire. The service will be live streamed on: https://familylifechurch.online.church/ Pastor Todd Menard, Teaching and Missions Pastor of Family Life Church, will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Westbrook, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Willard Castello and the former Julia Dinkins. To know Kobi was to love her. An amazing wife, mother, sister, and friend, Kobi exemplified what it meant to live life fully for the Lord. Married 31 years to the love of her life, Tony was her best friend whom she most looked forward to spending time with. Enjoying daily afternoon coffee dates, and weekend camping trips, they had an unwavering love for one another that was evident to all. She often admitted to being spoiled and so well loved by him. Together they raised 3 beautiful children, Emily, Luke, and Lani, who were the light of her life. A praying mom, she always covered them in prayer and loved them fiercely. Not a day went by that she didn’t talk about and intercede for her children. Family was greatly important to Kobi. She absolutely adored her “womb mate” and identical twin sister, Jodi. Referring to each other as “Buddy”, they shared a beautiful and special connection and an unbreakable bond. Sharing a mutual love for women’s ministry, they felt called early on to serve with one another and in recent years were blessed to lead 3 Fold Ministries together, ministering to and impacting the lives of hundreds of women. Valuing friendship, Kobi passionately poured into people making each individual feel treasured. She loved deeply. She never judged. She pursued deep connections. She was intentional and faithful in gathering friends together and enjoyed fun, fellowship and discussing the goodness of God. She was tremendously selfless and giving and created beautiful memories which will be forever carried in the hearts of so many. A long time and loyal member of Family Life Church who served in many capacities, Kobi made a huge impact on the church. Sharing the love of Jesus through teaching second grade at Family Life Christian Academy, leading life groups and Bible studies, engaging in formational prayer ministry, and just being faithful and intentional in every aspect of her life, she was a blessing to all. She was a gifted speaker and teacher of the Word and loved the Lord with with all her being. Having had a heart for the youngest to the eldest, she was a mentor, a confidant, a prayer warrior, a spiritual counselor and encourager to all ages. Kobi had a true anointing. It was not uncommon for Kobi to befriend and minister to the supermarket cashier, the lady in the parking lot or the new neighbor down the street. Her greatest passion was to see people set free and come into a relationship with Jesus. Numerous souls have been saved because Kobi chose to obey the great commission to make disciples. She never missed an opportunity to fearlessly and boldly share the gospel. An inspiration to all, she never thought twice about sacrificially giving of her time or her resources, going above and beyond to humbly serve others. Kobi always opened her heart and home to anyone needing a friend, a hug, prayer, encouragement, advice, or just a cup of coffee. She made it her mission to enrich and improve the lives of others. Her absence will be deeply felt. Often the life of the party, Kobi immediately lit up any room she entered and made a lasting impact on the lives of so many people. She was a joyful presence with her colorful clothes, well manicured nails, beautiful hair and bubbly personality. She shined for Jesus! She was dependable, faithful, generous, compassionate, loyal, spontaneous, fun, discerning, witty, vibrant, and EXTRA. She never met a stranger who didn’t become a friend. Her family and friends will miss her monumental and unforgettable presence in their lives, but rejoice in knowing she is dancing on the streets of gold with her Lord and Savior. There is no doubt she heard the words, “Well done thy good and faithful servant” upon entering Heaven. Her legacy will carry on forever and be a reminder to all to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and be bold in our walk with God. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Tony Westbrook; daughters, Emily Layne Westbrook and Lani Grace Westbrook; son, Luke Paul Westbrook; sister, Jodi Castello Tullier (Robby); canine companion, "Ellie-Kate"; and a host of cousins, nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Julia Castello; and brother, Chad Ted Castello. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Family Life Church of Lafayette on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Luke Westbrook, Mike Westbrook, Robby Tullier, Cody Tullier, Cade Tullier, and Danny David. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Tullier, Jon Paul Westbrook, Jim Cox, Bob McDowell, and Trent David.
