Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 12, 2016 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for L. A. Murray, Jr., 93, who passed away on May 10, 2016. Chaplain Jody Blanchard will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Murray, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late L. A. Murray, Sr. and the former Iola Banowsky. Born December 18, 1922 in Moran, TX, L. A. Murray, Jr. was originally from Fort Worth, TX and a resident of Lafayette, LA since 1949. In 1950 he met the love of his life, Juanita Escudier, and after only a few months, became husband and wife for 40 years. A 1948 graduate in Geology from TCU, he worked as a geologist and an Oil Scout for Exxon and retired after 34 years of service. He had many interests throughout his long life such as traveling, camping, going to casinos, golfing, watching TCU sports and Fox News along with spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his children, Jan Menard and husband, Herb, Pame Leblanc and husband, John, Matt Murray and wife, Lauri and Mike Murray and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Amy Fremin, Ria Lozano, Courtney Picard, Nicholas Murray, Cullen Leblanc and Barrett Murray; great grandchildren, Ashley Menard, Taylor Picard, Ashton Fremin, Olivia Lozano, Abigail Fremin, Emilio Lozano, Jack Fremin, Hunter Picard and Emmah Maurer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita Escudier Murray; 2nd wife, Margie Mire; grandson, Corey John Leblanc and twelve siblings from the Fort Worth, Texas area. Pallbearers will be Matt Murray, Mike Murray, Herb Menard, John Leblanc, Nick Murray, Barrett Murray and Cullen Leblanc. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 9:00 AM until time of service.
