Larry Thomas Louviere

A Memorial Mass will be held at a 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Larry Thomas Louviere, Sr., 81, who passed away on February 26, 2012 at 11:00 pm at his residence after a lengthy battle with cancer. Reverend Monsignor Charles Mallet will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Mr. Louviere, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of the late Larry J. Louviere, owner of Louisiana Motors and the former May Church Louviere. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, was very active in the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Larry was a member of the Wild Life Federation, past president of the Kiwanis Club, a past board member of the American Discount Association and a member of the Krewe of Gabriel. He was co-owner of Louisiana Motors for 50 plus years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, going to casinos and visiting family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Gaynell "Gay" Thibodeaux Louviere of Lafayette; four daughters, Annette Bradley of Lafayette, Melanie Lynch and husband Steve of Metairie, Avery LeBlanc and husband Jeff of Delcambre, and Suzanne Haas of League City, TX; one son, Larry Thomas "Tommy" Louviere, Jr. and wife Donna of Bakersfield, CA; one step daughter, Donna Bright of Baton Rouge; two step sons, Richard Michael "Mike" Bright of Lafayette, and Drew Bright and wife Melanie of The Woodlands, TX; fourteen grandchildren, Lauren Bradley, Gregory Bradley and wife Kristin, David Bradley, Kayla Louviere, Megan Lynch, Reese LeBlanc, Regan LeBlanc, Corey Haas, Ethan Haas, Jake Haas, Leah Shiels, Margaret Tuminello, Austin Bright, and Leighton Bright; two great grandchildren, William "James" Bradley and Chayton Brown; and one sister, Elaine L. Mann. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 11:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at the funeral home Thursday morning at 11:30 am. A reception will follow the service at Delhomme Reception Center.
