Laura Meaux Hebert

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 13, 2023 in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church for Laura Meaux Hebert, 91, who passed away on November 7, 2023. Rev. Fr. Kyle White, Pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Mrs. Laura, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Alphe Meaux and the former Alta Trahan. She was a proud member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Leo for many years. Laura loved gardening in her yard, going to the casino with her friends, and cooking for the family on Sundays. She especially loved horses and enjoyed riding in her younger years. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is finally reunited with her mother, whom she lost at a very young age, and the love of her life, Ernest Sr. She is survived by her sons, Ernest J. Hebert Jr. (Claire) and Clint A. Hebert (Nancy); daughter, Jill H. Deshotels (Daren); grandchildren, Rhiannon S. Perry (Todd), Thomas E. Hebert (Nicola), Fayez Jarrad, Natalie K. Hebert, Daniel J. Hebert, and Connor P. Deshotels; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Grace, Thomas Jr, Emma, and Ryder; sister-in-law, Mary Hebert Faul; brother-in-law, Dudley Hebert, Jr; and niece/"adopted daughter", Gale C. Broussard. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Ernest J. Hebert, Sr; daughter, Phyllis H. Hebert; parents, Alphe and Alta Meaux; sister, Mable M. Credeur; and god-child, Michael J. Credeur. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Sunday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Monday, November 13, 2023 from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Ernest J. Hebert Jr, Clint A. Hebert, Daniel J. Hebert, Thomas E. Hebert, Daren J. Deshotels, and Connor P. Deshotels. Honorary Pallbearers will be Forrest Blanton, Ronald Trahan, Ray Trahan, Darryl Hebert, Bochdan Gorchzakowsky, Todd Perry, Ryder Perry, Gabriel Hebert, Thomas Hebert Jr., and Jesse Prospero. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and her caregivers, Barbara Duplechin, Cathleen Olivier, and Meagan Olivier, for all the compassionate care given during Laura's time of need.
