Lavenia Tarver Faulk

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 in Delhomme Funeral Home - Chapel of the Flowers - Bertrand for Lavenia Tarver Faulk, at age 100, who passed away on October 4, 2024. Pastor Robin Tarver will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Fountain Memorial Cemetery. Lavenia was a resident of Ollie Steele Burden Manor in Baton Rouge and a former long-term resident of Lafayette. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Willie Tarver, born on April 18, 1924 in Monroe, LA. Lavenia received a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from Louisiana Tech University in May 1944 where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. Lavenia was very active in numerous civic and social organizations in Lafayette. She served as chairman of the Queen’s Committee for the Krewe of Troubadours for many years, and she was the last surviving founding member of the Krewe of Attakapas. Lavenia was preceded in death by her husband Arthur E. Faulk, Jr., and her brothers Benjamin Tarver and Jack Tarver. She is survived by her children, Bert Faulk and his wife Tina of Baton Rouge, Ben Faulk of Galveston, TX, Beth Anders and her husband, Dr. Ronald Anders of Ruston, Jim Faulk and his wife Betty Sue of Lafayette, and Susan Mereby and her husband Monzer of Durham, NC. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Other survivors include her sister, Sue King of State College, PA, her brothers Earl Tarver of Park City, Utah, and Gene Tarver of Monroe. Pallbearers will be Brett Faulk, David Faulk, John Faulk, Dr. Colin Goudelocke, Blair Scrantz, and Craig Tarver. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Anders, Earl and Gene Tarver. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Chapel of the Flowers on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 9:30 AM until time of service. The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care provided by Lonnie Claiborne and the staff of Ollie Stelle Burden Manor.
