Leland Paul Benoit

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at St. Basil Catholic Church for Mr. Leland Paul Benoit, 74, who passed away on April 16, 2017 at his residence. Fr. Mark Derise, Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral service. Burial will take place in St. Basil Cemetery in Judice. "Paul" as he was affectionately known, was a resident of Duson, was the son of the late Harry Benoit and the former Glayds Thomas. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed family gatherings and family vacations. At home he liked working in the yard, and watched old westerns. He was proud of the 25 years of service as an Electrical Inspector with the Lafayette Parish Consolidated Government. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Willia "Dean" Broussard Benoit; two sons, Kevin Benoit and wife Paulette; Scott Benoit and wife Cricket; grandchildren, Heather Falcon and husband Courtney, Markus Benoit, Elaine Benoit, Elliott Benoit, Eli Benoit; great grandchildren, Copelin Falcon, and Khason Jolet; sister, Jackie Long and husband Terry. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harry Lee Benoit. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 11:00AM to 9:00PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Wednesday from 8:00AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Markus Benoit, Brian, Dirk, and Damon Menard, Courtney Falcon, Derek Terry, Darrin Patin, and John and Jeffery Broussard. The family would like to thank Paulette Benoit, sisters and brothers in law, and St. Joseph's Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
