Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 9, 2024 in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery for Lisa C. Landry, 61, who passed away on August 29, 2024. A memorial gathering will be held at Delhomme Funeral Home – Bertrand on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. Fr. Travis Abadie, Pastor of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, will conduct the graveside services. Mrs. Landry, a resident of Arnaudville, was the daughter of Kermit George Landry and the former Donna Rita Solar. She was born & raised on Avery Island, home of the world-famous Tabasco pepper sauce, which she loved to put on her food whenever she could. She was proud of her birthplace and often lamented how she wished she could have raised her daughter in a community where everyone knew everyone and looked after one another. Her parents discovered her cerebral palsy when she was very young which led to many years of hospitals, clinics, doctors, and operations that continued throughout her life. However, that didn’t deter Lisa’s tenacious and determined soul. She eventually became a nurse where working with the elderly was her heart & soul until she was no longer allowed to do so and was considered “disabled.” Disability only encouraged her to use that tenacious spirit to advocate for, defend, and fight for others, especially those in the cerebral palsy community & her daughter, Layla. Lisa may have been small in stature, but she had a six-foot mentality that she instilled in her daughter who continues fighting & advocating for others as well. Lisa & Randal met online, of all places, & wound up getting married in Las Vegas Nevada. They made their home in Arnaudville, LA. Living in the country surrounded by nature’s beauty and quiet is always what she loved best. Their cozy home is where she loved to read, watch her tv shows (like Battle Bots), junk journal, cook, eat, and spend time with Randal and her family. When not at home, she loved her Sonic drinks (especially Dr Pepper), having lunch with Layla, spending time with her family & friends, telling doctors what thoughts were in brain, and going to the library or bookstore. Lisa made the most impact through her love and compassion for every person she encountered. If she was being feisty, that was her love shining through. Her love for Randal could be seen through her everyday interactions with him, her smiles, and her feeling of security & confidence around him. Her love for Layla could be seen through her hugs, pride, stories, and reading books. Lisa unofficially adopted Layla’s friends, and she showed her them her love through food, hugs, and Facebook messages. She also let them call her Mamma, too. All of Layla’s tiny humans at work were her tiny humans, too, & she loved them just as much as Layla does. She had the innate ability to give or write cards that could make everyone cry happy tears, and she used her creativity & love to design unique gift packages that reflected a person’s soul. She never met a person she could not love, and she made sure every single person in her life felt that love whether it was a hug, kind words, jokes, banter, or a snack. She is survived by her beloved husband of 13 years, Randal C. Quebedeaux; daughter, Layla Green Touchet (Travis); parents, Kermit and Donna Rita Landry; sister, Melanie Landry Broussard (Ted); niece, Brittany Broussard & her 3 children (Andrew, Jonah, & Isaac); and godson, Aaron Broussard (Brandy) & his 3 children (Lillian, London, & Lyla).
