Lorraine Dupuis

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Lorraine Fremin Dupuis, 89, who passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at her home in Lafayette. Interment will be held in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau, LA. Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lorraine was born in Coteau, Louisiana. At the age of 15, she moved to Lafayette to establish her career as an entrepreneur. Once in Lafayette, she financed her education, through determination and hard work. She graduated from Creigh's School of Cosmetology and Mt. Carmel High School, where she completed high school in 1 1/2 years. She solely established her own salon where she built and maintained loyal clientele that carried her through her 49 1/2 year career in cosmetology. Lorraine prided herself on hard work and honesty. She loved a good joke, a strong hug and a big smile. She led by example. She always had a quick wit, encouraging words and a humble nature. Known by her grandchildren as "Honey", she was ever-present in their lives. She was a mother, wife, sister and most importantly a friend to all. She will forever be grieved by those who loved her. She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie D. Moreau and husband Darrell and Connie P. McManus and husband David; her granddaughters, Bernadette Harris, Jamie Moreau Kalinowski. Bridget Harris, Caitlin Harris and Katherine Moreau; her sisters, Maudry Whatley, Dorothy Kilpatrick and Janet Segarra; and her brother, Ronald J. Fremin, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Curliss Martin, Ralph Primeaux, Percy Joseph Dupuis and Roland Dartez; her son, John Lynn Martin; parents, Guiteau and Bernadette Dugas Fremin; her sister, Leona Guillot; and her brothers, Richard Fremin and Gerald Fremin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand from 10:00 AM until the time of service, with a Rosary prayed at 11:30 AM. Special appreciation to Roxanne Richoux, her caregiver and companion over the last five years, Emma Watson, Cleola (Clay) Duplechin, Virginia Ledoux, Jeanette Viator, Liz Harris, Linda Gard and April Gobert; and the staff at MedSource and Hospice Compassus.
