Louisette B. Stagg

A Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2:30 pm in the Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers for Louisette Helen Stagg, 90, who passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 11:55 pm at Laurel Baye Health Care in Greenville South Carolina. Reverend Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, in Scott, LA will be the Celebrant and will conduct funeral services. Entombment will take place in the Mausoleum of the Resurrection at Calvary Cemetery. Louisette, a resident of Greenville, South Carolina was the daughter of the late Henry Boudreaux and the former Jeanne Escudier. In 1950, Mr. and Mrs. Stagg purchased the then existing Boudreaux Music Shoppe. In 1954, they opened another store in New Iberia and changed the name to Stagg's Music Shoppes, Inc. Louisette served as secretary-treasurer of the corporation as well as supervisor of retail sales for both shops. After having celebrated 25 years in business, the Stagg's sold the business and Mrs. Stagg retired. Louisette is a Past-president of the Lafayette Business and Professional Women's Club. She has been listed in "Who's Who in American Women, for 1972, '73, '74, and '75. In 1972 she was honored by having her biography included in the publication "Two Thousand Women of Achievement." A life member of Beta Sigma Phi, she served as a Past-president of the Beta Sigma Phi City Council; Alpha Epsilon Chapter, Xi Iota Chapter, Exemplar Preceptor Chapter and Laureate Beta Chapter. She also served a number of years as Member-Advisor of Beta Eta Chapter and has been honored with the coveted "Order of the Rose." She is survived by her son, Larry L. Stagg and his wife Melissa; her two grandchildren, Cory L. Stagg, and Nichole Stagg Dale and her husband Kenneth Ray Dale. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Lauren Ray Stagg. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, June 13, 2104 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
