Lucille Gibson

Funeral Services will be held at Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 2:00 pm for Lucille Trosclair Gibson, 93, who passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 9:26 pm at Maison de Lafayette. Pastor Don Labro of Victory Life Christian Center of Church Point, LA will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in St. John Berchmans Catholic Cemetery in Cankton, LA Lucille a resident of Cankton, LA was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Trosclair and the former Louise Paille. Lucille's passions were her family (she was one of eleven children and raised six of her own) and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In her later years, Lucille crafted literally thousands of crosses, distributing them to whoever could use them. It is what she did... She loved her Maison de Lafayette family, her Sarah, Flo, Felicia, Pat, Lisa, Brandon, Mary and all the others. They gave Lucille incredible care; Lucille gave them her love. Lucille loved her life and lived every minute to the fullest. Now she's home, in the presence of her Lord. She is survived by her daughters, Paulette G. Royse and her husband Kenneth, and Maria G. Hughes and her husband, Richard; her sons, Joseph William Gibson, Jr., and his wife Wilma; Paul D. Gibson and his wife Cyndy; James M. Gibson and his wife Susan; and Thomas A. Gibson and his wife Patricia; her seventeen grandchildren; her thirty great grandchildren; and her two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over fifty-three years Joseph W. Gibson, Sr.; her grandson John Paul Gibson; her sisters, Louise Leson, Blanche Ory, Anna Ledet, Marie Hebert, and Angelle Guidry; her brothers, Joseph, Phillip, Lucien and Robert Trosclair. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA 70506 on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 10:00 am until time of service. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ronald Gibson, Joshua Gibson, James Gibson, Jr., Christian Royse, Alan Royse, Ricky Hughes, Kane Hubbard, and Damian Hubbard.
