Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Lucy Ann Richard Romero, 87, who passed away on May 3, 2024. Fr. Steve Leblanc will conduct the funeral services. The burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Lucy Richard Romero, 87, of Arnaudville, passed away on Friday, May, 3rd at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home. Lucy was born on April 3, 1937, to Lawrence and Wilma Richard in Arnaudville, LA. Lucy never met a stranger and enjoyed talking everyone's ears off. Lucy loved to sing and was very proud of her children. She also always talked of her hobby of bee-keeping when she was younger. She enjoyed being on-the-go and never missed a party she was invited to. Lucy spent the last three years of her life at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home, where she made a slew of friends and enjoyed playing Pokeno & Bingo. She was so proud of the honor she received being named prom queen in 2023, where she won the hearts of the judges with her singing and funny way with words. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the staff, especially her favorite nurse Laquisha Robinson, who was a light in her life. Lucy is survived by her sons, Micheal Lejeune (Joanne) and Earl Romero; her daughters Sandra Landry (Kevin), Babie Wiltz (Larry), Debbie Smith (John); 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was also survived by her siblings, Daniel Richard Sr., Earl Richard, Ray Richard, Jerry Richard (Lauren), Mary Ann Klinglesmith, Elaine Haworth (Ronnie), Pearl Wyble (Bobby), and Laura Laird (Gene); and numerous cousins, nieces & nephews. Lucy was predeceased by her husband, Dorphey Romero; son, Harold Lejeune; grandchildren, Earl Romero Jr, Lance Micheal Mouton, and Khloe Boudreaux; parents, Lawrence Sr. & Wilma Miller Richard; brother, Lawrence Richard, Jr; and her first husband, Abram Lejeune. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Micheal Lejeune, Earl Romero, Travis Baudoin, Taylor Baudoin, Ryan Mouton, Adam Lejeune, Beau Meche, and Allen Boudreaux. Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel Richard, Earl Richard, Ray Richard and Jerry Richard.
