A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 13, 2016 in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Lylianne LeBlanc, (Mrs. Corbett LeBlanc, Jr.), 92, who passed away at home peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Msgr. Keith Derouen, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Church, Opelousas will be Celebrant of the Mass. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mrs. LeBlanc a resident of Lafayette was the daughter of the late Francois Le Dérout and the former Rosa Nutte. Lylianne was born and raised in Paris, France. She met her future husband, Corbett LeBlanc, Jr. during WWII while he was stationed in Paris they became engaged. Her Fiancée with the help of U. S. Representative Jimmy Domengeaux contacted Ambassador Caffery in France for assistance in expediting Lylianne’s paperwork granting her a visa allowing entrance into the United States as a War Bride. They were to be married in New Orleans upon her arrival to the states. Leaving fashion design in Paris, the city of lights, she arrived in the small village of Maurice. Shortly afterwards they made their home in Lafayette where she became affiliated with Southwestern Louisiana Institute, French Department. Many years later she worked with CODIFIL and later taught conversational French in her home to many local residents. She was a dedicated wife and mother who will be truly missed by many. She and Corbett, Jr. enjoyed many social activities such as; Townhouse, Les Brigandes, and Gabriel Balls, and were charter members of the original Lafayette City Club. She is survived by her two daughters, Jackie LeBlanc Truitt and husband, Norman and Sonia LeBlanc Comboy and husband, Mickey; grandchildren, Michelle Truitt Leleux, Brian Scott Forbus, Kelly Truitt Wright and John Corbett Comboy; great grandchildren, Hannah Leleux, Dylan and Daxton Fowler and London Wright as well as one niece, Jocelyn Delente of France. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, of 56 years, Corbett LeBlanc, Jr.; daughter, Linda LeBlanc Forbus; and sister, Renee Le Dérout Louis. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 11:30 AM in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brian Leleux, Johnathon Wright, John Corbett Comboy, Dylan Fowler, Daxton Fowler and Michael Pears. Honorary Pallbearers will be Norman Truitt, Jr. and Michael (Mickey) Comboy.
