Marie F. Cade

Funeral services will be held at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 29, 2008 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Marie Fremin Cade, 88, who passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Camelot of Broussard Nursing Home. Reverend Michael Champagne will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Eucharistic Minister will be Linda Viator. Lectors will be Tiffany Cade Santiago and Carlene Cade. Gift bearers will be Haili Guidry and Dylan Cade. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Marie Fremin Cade was born on December 18, 1919 in Coteau, Louisiana and had been a resident of Lafayette for over 56 years. She was the daughter of the late Ren' Fremin and the former Inez Landry. She was a remarkable woman with a kind and caring heart who walked through this world with gentleness and grace. She was devoted to her family and friends and loved spending time with them. She cherished every moment with them and each had a special place in her heart. Mrs. Cade was always there when you needed her, giving support and encouragement. She spent endless hours caring for sick family members and friends, and did it so well. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. It was the simple things in life that brought her joy. She loved to read, was a wonderful cook and an accomplished seamstress. She was a generous soul with a beautiful spirit and we were so blessed to have her in our lives. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Survivors include one son, Neil Cade and his wife, Carlene of Lafayette; three daughters, Billie Cade Seneca of Broussard, Sandra Cade Guidry of Lafayette, and Marsha Cade Hebert and her husband, Darrell Hebert of Thibodaux; one brother, Felix Fremin of Lafayette; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William 'Bill' Cade; one grandson, Jaime Seneca; her parents; five sisters, Electa Girouard Fremin, Laurence 'Flo' Begnaud, Irma Comeaux, Lena Viator and Beatrice LeBlanc and one son-in-law, Ken Guidry. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited by Leo Fremin at 7:00 PM on Wednesday in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be her six grandsons, Cal Seneca, Jed Seneca, Brett Guidry, Chris Cade, Josh Hebert and Derek Hebert. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the excellent and professional care she received from Heart of Hospice, especially her nurses, Mandy, Shelly, Leah, and Matthew, her CNA's, Danielle and Loretta, social workers, Allison Breaux and Leah Lomenick, spiritual chaplain, Austin Spell, Hospice secretary, Becky and other staff members. The family would also like to thank Dr. John Rainey, Physician Assistant, Felecia Fontenot Case and their entire staff for their excellent care and concerns all these years. Thank you also to the staff of Camelot of Broussard, especially nurses, Peggy, Lauren, Bill, Destiny & Raymond and all the other nurses and CNA's who took such good care of her. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Father Michael Champagne for his love, prayers and spiritual guidance.
