Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 23, 2013 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mark "Slim" Andrews, 56, who passed away on August 20, 2013 at 12:09 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Jacob Aranza, Pastor of Our Saviors Church, will conduct the funeral services. Slim, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the former Norma Kavanaugh. He was the owner/operator of Slim's Electric which has been up and running for 25 years. He loved to spend his spare time riding his Harley or at the shop working on bikes. He also loved fishing, hunting, shooting guns and spending time with his family. He was the most down to earth and tell-it-like-it-is person and had many friends that he considered family. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Chiasson Andrews of Lafayette, LA, two daughters, Shannon Andrews Dumiller and husband Michael Dumiller, Jr. of Youngsville, LA and Jill Andrews also of Lafayette, LA; two sons, Ryan Andrews and wife Andrea Gascon Andrews of El Paso, TX and Tristan Andrews of Lafayette, LA; two grandchildren, Mia Andrews and Brayden Dumiller; and one sister, Helen Whaley and her companion, Linda Sexton of Palestine, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother, one daughter, Malorie Chiasson and one son, Josh Andrews. Honorary pallbearers will be Tristan Andrews, Ryan Andrews, David Pfannenstiel, Kurt Matte, Jack Harrell, John Thompson, Michael Dumiller, Jr., Dustin Guidry and Curtis Barns. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 pm by Judi and Luis Carranza. Visiting hours will continue on Friday from 8:00 am until the time of service. The Andrews family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Bruce Schneider and Dr. Jefrey Chen. They would also like to thank Dr. Ken Godeaux, Dr. Paul Trissler and their staff as well as the bystanders at Lowe's parking lot who fought so hard to keep him here with us.
