Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Marlene’s life on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Delhomme Funeral home in Lafayette from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM by Deacon Russell Hayes. Visitation will continue Monday, June 19, 2023 from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Msgr. Russell Harrington will celebrate the mass. Readers will be Jennifer Savoie and Jackie Lasseigne. Gift bearers will be Anna Darbonne, Lauren Arnaud, Brenda Saunier and Gloria Richard. Interment will be at Saints Peter & Paul cemetery in Scott. Marlene Brasseaux Arnaud, age 69 from Scott passed away peacefully on Thursday June 15, 2023. Marlene was born along with her twin sister on March 27, 1954 to Ray and Mable (Trahan) Brasseaux. Marlene was a 1972 graduate of Acadiana High School, and a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was a dedicated employee of Dr. David Foreman for 30 years, and previously employed by Dr. Elmo Laborde. Marlene was a woman of great faith and put her life and trust in God’s hands at all times. She was a prayer warrior, and you could always count on her praying for those in need. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7) She married the love of her life David Arnaud on October 23, 1976. They were happily married for 23 years until David’s death May 24, 1999. They welcomed three children which were her pride and joy and her love for them was unmeasurable. Her greatest gift was being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children Rachel Arnaud, Christopher Arnaud and Daniel Arnaud (Lauren). Her grandchildren Olivia Arnaud, Emma Arnaud and Lucy Arnaud, mother Mable Brasseaux, twin sister Arlene Darbonne, her niece and nephew Jennifer Savoie and Garrett Darbonne. She was preceded in death by her husband David Arnaud and her father Ray Brasseaux, maternal grandparents Alexie and Armance Trahan, and paternal grandparents Willie and Victoria Brasseaux. Pallbearers will be Mike Arnaud, Garrett Darbonne, William Darbonne, Dr. David Foreman, Tommy Richard, and Dennis Saunier. Honorary pallbearers will be Kirk Lasseigne, Daniel Arnaud, Christopher Arnaud, Christopher Savoie and Brian Miller.
