Mary Ann Mouton Richard

A Liturgy of the Word will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 6, 2023 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mary Ann Mouton Richard, known affectionately to all as "Nanny", 91, who passed away on July 1, 2023. Fr. Steve Leblanc will conduct the funeral services and be assisted by Deacon Ken Soignier. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Mary, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Ursin Mouton and the former Louise Boutin. Mary Ann was very career-oriented, working right out of high school as an ice cream server at Borden's. She went on to work as secretary for Mayfair Industries until her retirement. Mary Ann made many friends during her lifetime. She, along with her family and friends, enjoyed traveling, eating out, and going to casinos. All anyone had to do was just call her and she would be up for anything. "Nanny" was always ready to go. She was a loving sister to Earlene and Jeanette, and a loving aunt to all of her sisters' children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her sister, Earlene Mouton Breaux (Gerald); her best friend, Alonda Guilbeau; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lionel J. Boudreaux; her parents, Ursin and Louise Mouton; her sister, Jeanette O'Brien (LeRoy); and her second husband, Herman Richard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be David Schexnailder, Sean Hulin, Lukas LaBry, Spencer Roy, Jerry Breaux, Shane Guilbeau, and John Roy. A special thank you to her caregivers, Alonda Guilbeau, Michelle Desjacques, Earlene Breaux, Lea Hulin, and Shane Guilbeau.
