Michael "Mike" Foreman

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, October 20, 2018 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Michael "Mike" Lynn Foreman, 69, who passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at his residence after a long battle with cancer. Fr. Gilbert Dutil, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church will conduct the funeral service. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Mr. Micheal, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Euel Foreman and the former Barbara Foreman. He was the owner and operator of Mike Foreman Trucking, (C.B. Handle- C.C. Ryder) leased to several transportation companies for over 40 years. His interests included visiting the casinos, dancing, fishing, and was very good at repairing almost anything. He also enjoyed his annual Cruisin' the Coast trip with his wife, Kay. Mike was a member of the board at Brown Park in the late 80's into the 90's and was instrumental in coordinating Special Olympics events as well as youth sports events. He loved being involved in his children's events, including pageants with his daughters and sports with his son. Mike was a positive influence on anyone he came into contact with, never met a stranger, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed the time he spent with them. Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Kay Abshire Foreman; children, Latrell Granger and husband Kenny, Brandon Foreman and wife Mika, Delila Melancon and husband Cody; grandchildren, Macie Jarrell, Trevor Foreman, Kylie Jarrell, Bryce Bourque, Gavin Foreman, Makayla Melancon, Landon Granger, Bailey Melancon, Hailey Granger, Kennen Barrilleaux, Victoria Fondal; great granddaughter, Ava Bell; step-children, Brady Laviolette and wife Shelley, Eryn McBride and husband Mitchell; step-grandson, Konner McBride; sister, Deborah Hebert and husband John; niece, Johnica Hebert and husband Bryan Sonnier; great niece, River Sonnier; and the mother of his children, Rhonda Foreman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Euel and Barbara Foreman; and brother, Johnny Foreman. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Saturday from 8:00AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Brandon Foreman, Kenny Granger, Cody Melancon, Trevor Foreman, Bryce Bourque, Gavin Foreman and Landon Granger.
