Nathaniel Eli Stephen Perry

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers (1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA) for Nathaniel Eli Stephen Perry, 50, who was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on July 30, 2025. Dear family friend, Rev. Chris Blanchard, will conduct the memorial services. Nathan leaves behind a legacy...to his family he was the rock and the spine, nothing halfway, full love, full commitment, giving all he had, strong of muscles, but tender of heart, with a grin full of goodness. Nathan was unselfish and kind hearted, loyal and generous, a man who would laugh with you in the good times, and hug you in the bad times, not just friend in label, but friend indeed. Nathan, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Herman Ray Perry and the former Lyla Hope Skinner. He was born May 31, 1975 in Kansas City, MO. The family moved to Cecilia, LA in December of 1981 where they laid down their roots. Nathan graduated from Cecilia High School in 1993, where he excelled at football, played baseball, and was a member of the track and field team. One of his parents most proud moments was when he decided to attend and play football for Louisiana State University. Here, he was able to show his true grit and determination. He graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. His years in Baton Rouge gifted him lifelong friendships and many stories of his time as a Fighting Tiger. Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger. After college, Nathan met and married the love of his life, Lindsay. Together they built a life that was centered on faith, family and friends. They loved to travel, and family vacations were the highlight of their year. They were blessed with three incredible sons, William Ray, Blake Thomas, and Oliver Paul. Each of his boys carries a piece of their dad with them. William has his loyalty, his quiet strength, his softness, and watches out for everyone without need for recognition. Blake has his intensity. He feels everything deeply, loves deeply, and is always the one to make sure everyone is ok. Oliver has his selflessness, his care for everyone else before himself, his goofiness, and that easy, carefree joy that lights up any room. Nathan proudly dedicated twenty-one years of his life to law enforcement. He served his community with unwavering integrity, courage, and compassion. His commitment to duty and the people he protected leaves a lasting impact. He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Lindsay Boyd Perry; sons, William Ray Perry, Blake Thomas Perry, and Oliver Paul Perry; siblings, David M. Perry, Jennie L. Perry, Mary E. Perry-Hernandez, Paula R. Perry-Rocha, and Theenda Y. Perry Burrus; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and lastly his bonus children, Emily Stutes, Kori Romero, Khale Collard, and Ayden Metz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Ray and Lyla Hope Perry; paternal grandparents, Edward Perry, Joyce Greyson, and Glendora England; and maternal grandparents, Winfred Skinner and Jennie Burrs Skinner. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Chapel of the Flowers on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Honorary Pallbearers will be William Perry, Blake Perry, Oliver Perry, Aleks Verni, Joshua Verni, Kent Roberts, Kody Bowen, and Wally Manuel. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to Foster the Love Louisiana or Respire Haiti , two organizations that held a special place in Nathan's heart.
