Patricia Foreman

Patricia H. Foreman (1925-2015) - Born on April 5th, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan to Isabelle and Barney Hammill. Patty attended boarding school in Chicago, IL. She spent summers on a farm in Ohio where her love of horses was born during her teenage years. After graduation she moved to Tampa, Florida, where she worked at McDill Air Force Base and trained to become a civilian pilot with the Woman’s Auxillary Ferrying Squadrum (W.A.F.S.). It was there that she met and married her husband, J.Y. Foreman, on Christmas Eve in 1943. The young couple moved to Lafayette, LA, where they built a family and followed their dreams. As an avid equestrian, Patty built a horse farm where she introduced and inspired countless people to her love of riding and jumping. She loved playing bridge with her friends, spending time with her family and watching NCIS. She had a fun-loving sense of humor and was generous, kind and accepting to all she encountered. Patty was preceded in death by her husband, J.Y.; son, Tommy; parents, Isabelle and Barney. She was preceded in life by sons, Ronnie (Kay), Kim, Jeff (Carol) and daughter, Tricia; grandchildren, Frere (Lissette) Foreman, Rachel (Kenneth) Brown, Joey Dupris, Jeffrey (Christina) Dupris, Gregory (Kathy) Dupris, Katy (Ryan) Leach, Jarret (Alyssa) Ditch, Justin Ditch and Christopher Ditch; and great grandchildren, Gabriella Foreman, Lorenzo Foreman, Joe Dupris, Evans Dupris, Lily Dupris, Alex Dupris, Gavin Leach, Caden Leach, Elizabeth Leach, Jayden Ditch, Amaya Ditch and Kalaya Ditch. Her legacy of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren live each day filled with the gratitude of having shared this life with Patty. She transitioned peacefully from this life and will live on through each of her family members. Services will be held at Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA 70506.
