Patsy Jane Miller Mahfouz

A Liturgy of the Word will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, August 15, 2025 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Patsy Jane Miller Mahfouz, 90, who passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Rev. Msgr. Keith J. DeRouen, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services. Entombment will take place in Calvary Mausoleum. Patsy was born in Cankton, LA on July 23, 1935. She was an honorary graduate of Lafayette High School and shortly after, moved to Jennings, LA to pursue a career in hair styling. It was through this journey that she met the love of her life, Alexis, who was the best man at her friend's wedding. Returning to Lafayette in the early 60s, they built a life filled with many friendships bringing much joy and happiness. Although Patsy was an only child, she fondly reminded often that a circle of friends is so important. Memories of rosary mornings, Run Away Moms trips, bourree games, casino runs, bingo nights at the Petroleum Club, and bridge tables brought a smile to her face. She was a veracious reader and wonderful cook. A devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was so proud of her family and was happiest when surrounded by them. She is survived by her children, one daughter, Leslie Mahfouz Patout and her husband, Sebastian, and one son, Alex A. Mahfouz Jr.; two grandchildren, Brittany A. Mahfouz and Alex A. Mahfouz, III; great-grandson, Jayden Brown; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Alexis Anthony Mahfouz, Sr.; and her mother, Edmay Miller. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Friday, August 15, 2025 beginning at 10:00 AM. A Rosary will be led by Patsy's Thursday Morning Rosary Group at 1:00 PM in the funeral home parlor. Pallbearers will be Alex Mahfouz III, Al Mahfouz, Kahlil Mahfouz, Jason Mahfouz, Danny Babineaux, and Charles Marcantel. Memorial contributions may be sent in the name of Patsy Miller Mahfouz to: St. Joseph's Diner, De La Salle Christian Brothers, or the charity of your choice. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Richard Hines, Dr. Timothy Keys, and Kimberly Parich for the care given Patsy these last few years.
