Ralle Mary Castille

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette for Ralle Mary Castille, 91, who passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Lafayette. Reverend Chester Arceneaux, Rector of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the Funeral Services. Ralle Mary Castille was born on November 19, 1924 and was a life long resident of Lafayette. She was a devout Catholic, a beloved mother and grandmother. She was truly blessed and loved even more when she became a grandmother believing that her greatest treasures called her "Grandma". She lived her life in the most positive way, seeing the good in everything and encouraging us to do the same. She was a loving, supportive and unselfish person who always put others before herself. Her love and the incredible example that she showed her family should be emulated by all of us. She lived a simple life and sacrificed so much for her family. Her love was priceless. Her strong faith in God and trust in Jesus were unwavering. We share our joy in the gift that her life was to us and the pain that her passing brings. Survivors include one son, Sidney J. Castille, Jr. (Savannah) of Lafayette; five daughters, Yvette Castille, Jocelyn Taylor, Germaine Sherman, Janel Castille and Carol Castille; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Sherman, Sgt. Todd Sherman, Jr., Meghin Taylor, Austin Taylor, Halle Castille, Trey Castille, Isaiah Castille and Mariah Castille; four sister-in-laws, Rita Herpin, Dorothy Castille, Yvonne Castille and Eloise Castille; a life long friend, Gladys Stevens and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney J. Castille, Sr.; her parents, Gradney and Celeste Herpin; her brother, William Herpin and her sister, Lorena LeMelle. The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at Acadian Home Care of Lafayette; nurses, Azure Valentine, Teri and Cindy Landry, NP; the staff at Hamilton Medical Group and Dr. Nathan Landry. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Delhomme Funeral Home from 9:00 am until 11:30 am. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Sidney Castille, Jr., Jeremy Sherman, Austin Taylor, Trey Castille, Isaiah Castille and Francis Curtis Richard. Honorary pallbearers are Sgt.
