Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 11, 2021, in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Raquel Farrah Broussard Eggins, 28, who passed away on September 2, 2021. Pastor George Celestine of Morning Star Sanctified Church will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in St. Martin De Porres Cemetery of Scott, LA. Raquel, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Felton J. Broussard Sr. and the former Mary Celestine. A stellar academic, Raquel graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA, where she also obtained her master’s degree. Raquel was employed at Merakey working as a mental health professional counselor for the last 3yrs. Raquel enjoyed traveling, nature, and being with family. During the 6th grade in middle school, Raquel was diagnosed with ITP. She had to be careful around others due to her immune system being low. Fast forward years later at the age of 17, Raquel was diagnosed with Systematic Lupus Erythematosus. Raquel was one of the strongest Lupus warriors around! She never complained, or even questioned God “Why?”. Despite her medical issues, Raquel was a fighter and she never let Lupus get in the way of achieving her goals! She fought her battle like a champ! She fought until God told her it was her time! Raquel will be missed by so many, but God needed her more! #RockingWithRoc #Rocstron She is survived by her husband of 3 years, Jarvis J. Eggins; mother, Mary Celestine Broussard; sisters, Yolanda B. Austin (John), Clarissa E. Broussard and Alleria Boudreaux; brother, Felton J. Broussard Jr. (Shameka); "bonus-daughter", Corriona Carmouche; nieces, Destiny Broussard, Arianna Broussard, and Bryleigh Corbins; nephew, Shamar Broussard; god-children, India Washington, Donovan Eggins, and Minarri "My Butterfly" Batiste; god-mother, Mary Amelia Duncan; god-father, Telly Gallien; mother-in-law, Valerie Eggins; father-in-law, Melvin Countee; canine companion, "Joc"; her pet pig, "Jax"; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Felton Joseph Broussard Sr; maternal grandparents, Alta Mae Celestine, and Albert Francis; paternal grandmother, Yolanda Broussard; maternal great-grandparents, Andrew and Adrienne Celestine; paternal great-grandparents, Jim and Wable Daigle; and uncle, Errit Celestine. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers on Saturday, September 11, 2021, from 10:00AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Cherrinesia Pete, Majiadah Charles, Shamar Broussard, Triston Celestine, Donray Fuselier, Kave Franklin, and Telly Gallien. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alisha Fox, Alleria Boudreaux, Felton Broussard Jr., Keith Franklin Jr., Errit Gallien, and Ravis Boudreaux.
