Rena Faul

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 13, 2016 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Rena Lyons Faul, 90, who peacefully passed on to be with her Lord surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 6:20PM. She was the daughter of the late Offutt and Mathilde Lyons of Mire, Louisiana and a longtime resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. Father Stephen LeBlanc of St. Pius Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Mass. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lafayette. Rena was a devout Catholic and parishoner of St. Jules Catholic Church. She was a member of the Magnolia Homemakers Club for many years with her wonderful friends. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, baking, crafting and had a passion for flowers. She absolutely adored her only two grandchildren, who have the fondest memories spending a lot of time with her, listening to her own childhood memories, telling her wonderful stories, and baking them "little desserts." She loved babysitting and spending time with her siblings, nieces and nephews who affectionately called her "Me-Nah". Her door was always open. She loved having "company" and never wanted them to leave. She spent her later years visiting and caring for her elders and friends. She cared deeply for others, their lives and their struggles. She spent her entire life volunteering, helping others, and in constant prayer. She always wanted "to do the right thing and go to a good place when she was done". Though she will be deeply missed, we know that she is finally at peace and resting in that beautiful place. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Easton Joseph Faul; her son, Joseph Terry Faul; her daughter-in-law, Beth Blondeau Faul; her daughter, Mary Ann Marks and her husband Craig; her grandchildren, Donald "Alex" Faul and Mathile "Mattie" Elizabeth Marks; her baby sister (and best friend), Juanita Romero and husband, Fred and her wonderful nieces and nephews whom she loved so much. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Cedric Faul; her sisters, Mary Mire, Bernadette McConnell, Jane Guillot, Louise Perrodin and her only brother, Sid Lyons. The family request visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30PM on Friday in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 8:00AM until time of service. Special thanks to all of her family and friends who constantly visited, brought snacks, flowers and prayed for her. She was truly touched by her godchild, Lexi Morgan whom she adored, who spent the last few precious weeks by her side. Also to all of our sweet cousins who were in constant prayer for her. Thanks to the staff of Cedar Crest, whom she was so appreciative to be with and all they did for her and also Amedysis Hospice for all of their care in making her comfortable.
