Reverend Thomas D. Lambert

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2022, in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers - Bertrand for Reverend Thomas Douglas Lambert, 83, who passed away on November 12, 2022. Reverend Lyndon Longoria will conduct the funeral services. Reverend Burt Langley will conduct the cemetery committal. Burial will take place in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Carencro. Bro. Tom tells of surrendering to a call to preach at the age of 16. He began early in life to witness to his family and friends. He set up chairs in the back yard to practice his sermons and said he got all of his Mom and Dad’s chickens saved. (LOL) Tom pastored his first church at the age of 19. He pursued his education and graduated from East Texas Baptist College obtaining a master’s degree in Theology. Later he received his Doctorate in Theology. He faithfully served God preaching the Word, helping others, and loving God’s people. He served as bi-vocational pastor in several churches and was presented bi-vocational pastor of the year award from Louisiana Baptist Convention. Brother Lambert, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Henry Lambert and the former Mae Landry. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Christina F. Lambert; children, Joseph W. Lambert and wife, Kelly, Joseph E. Knight and wife, Adena, Pam White; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister, Marlene Dodge and husband, Richard as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tina Schubert, siblings, Gloria K. Jordan, Lucille A. Richard, Henry E. "Buddy" Lambert, James D. "Popeye" Lambert, Gerald T. Lambert, Lurline N. Crump, and Henreitta M. Welch. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers - Bertrand on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 9:30 AM until time of service. Pallbearers will be Joseph Knight, Eric Knight, T.J. Knight, Rev. David Trosclair, Jared Yasher, and V. Austin Keller.
