Richard M. Wallace

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2023 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers - Bertrand for Richard Wallace, 72, who passed away on November 28, 2023. Ric was a U. S. Army Veteran and commissioned Warrant Officer. He retired in the Medical Industry where he worked as a Bio-Medical Engineer. Ric loved spending time with his family and was somewhat of a “renaissance man”. He enjoyed historical re-enactments and going to Texas family reunions. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, blacksmithing, gunsmithing, cooking, traveling, music (playing the bagpipes), and researching genealogy. He was a ham radio operator, a patriot, and liked to be prepared in all things. Above all, Ric was a devout Christian who loved his Lord and Savior. Ric, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Gene Wallace and the former Lois "Gerri" Moore. He is survived by his wife, Jackie P. Wallace; children, Candace Haynes and husband, Mark, Bonnie Duplantis and husband, Blaine, Erin Turner and husband, T.J., Joshua Wallace and wife, Amber, and Megan Wallace; grandchildren, Grant and Brent Haynes, Blayze, Calder, Keagan, Haydan, and Daxson Duplantis, Ian and Alister Turner, Hugh, Finn, and Celia Wallace, Devin Wallace, and Kyrstin Bila; siblings, Susi Wallace, Darren Wallace, and Summer Wallace Stone, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Varun Duplantis and Madelyn "Maddie" Bila; and siblings, Chris Wallace and Lisa Smith. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will continue on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
