Dr. Robert Paul LeJeune

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM on October 27, 2022, in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Dr. Robert Paul LeJeune, 52, who passed away on October 22, 2022. Reverend Msgr. Keith Derouen will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery. Bob, a resident of Carencro, was the son of the late Craig LeJeune and the former Vivalyn Champagne. Robert “Bob” LeJeune was born and raised in Eunice, LA, where he graduated from Eunice High School in 1988. He then attended McNeese State University in Lake Charles on a football scholarship. In 1996, he received his Doctorate degree in Chiropractic at Parker College in Dallas, TX. During the same year, Bob moved to Lafayette where he opened his practice and resided there until his death. Dr. Bob was the chiropractor for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for over twenty years, and he provided his services to local high schools and sports teams as well. Bob was also an avid member of Kiwanis and of the Krewe of Bonaparte, Brigands, and Bon Amis. Growing up in Eunice, Bob was the son of a mechanic and the third of four brothers who learned the family trade. He spent much of his adult life continuing his family’s legacy by drag racing and by most recently showing off his newly built hot rod at Cruisin’ on the Coast. Bob loved people. His favorite moments were those surrounded by friends and family, whether it was singing karaoke and boating on False River or spending his Friday afternoons at La Fonda’s. As a chiropractor, he was more than just a doctor to his patients. He was a friend. While Bob never met a stranger, he was never afraid to tell you exactly what he thought. Bob leaves behind his beautiful wife Ellen and their six children: Kennedy, Fletcher, Addison, Elise, Myah, and Ainsley. He believed there was nothing more important than family because “no matter what happens you always have your family.” As a husband and a father, he was a great source of love, guidance, and support. Bob taught his children to be good people above all else. He encouraged his children to dream, and that through hard work and determination, they could achieve anything. After his passing, Bob was an organ donor through LOPA. His organ and tissue donations will be used to improve recipients’ quality of life. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Blanchet LeJeune; children, Kennedy LeJeune and wife, Megan, Fletcher LeJeune and wife, Bethany, Addison LeJeune, Elise Graveson, Myah LeJeune, and Ainsley Graveson; two grandchildren, Syndle and Willow LeJeune; mother, Vivalyn Champagne LeJeune; brothers, Kirt, Bryan, and Shane LeJeune as well as extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Visiting hours will continue on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 1:15 PM. Pallbearers will be Shane LeJeune, Bryan LeJeune, Kirt LeJeune, Brett LeJeune, John Blanchet, and Kent Fawcett. The family asks that any donations in Bob’s memory be made to St. Jude’s Hospital and Healing House.
