Roy Vincent

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, January 9, 2023 in St. Joseph Catholic Church - Milton for Roy Vincent, 91, who passed away on January 5, 2023. Fr. William Schambough, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church - Milton, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Entombment will take place in St. Joseph Mausoleum - Milton. Roy, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Alcee Vincent and the former Agnes Broussard. Born and raised in Milton, Roy graduated from Milton High in 1949. He was drafted and served in the US Army; Roy was stationed in Germany from 1952-1954 for the Korean Conflict. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus - Council 3362. Roy was an avid golfer, loved playing against his brothers, and was a life-long member of Les Vieux Chenes Golf Course. Roy married the love of his life, Ruby, on Valentine’s Day in 1954 and they were together for 68 years. They enjoyed traveling with their friends and taking bus-tours around the country. Roy & Ruby were inseparable throughout life and are now together once more. He is survived by his three brothers, Jules Vincent (Earline), Robert Vincent (Debbie), and Jim Vincent; sister-in-law, Sandra Hernandez Vincent; brother-in-law, Robley Menard (Willie Mae); and a host of beloved nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Menard Vincent; parents, Alcee and Agnes Vincent; sisters, Bernice Vincent Picard and Bertha Vincent Domec (George); brothers, Ophe Vincent (Maureen), Nicholas Vincent (May), Francis Vincent, and Preston Vincent. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Maurice on Monday, January 9, 2023 beginning at 9:00AM. A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM on Monday morning in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue, following the Rosary, until 1:20 PM. Pallbearers will be Jay Gallet, Randy Boulet, Dudley Frugé, Blake Broussard, Courtney Vincent, and Blake Vincent. Honorary Pallbearers will be his brothers, Jules, Robert, and Jim. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Anyssa and Angie, for the compassionate care they provided during Roy's time of need.
