Ruby P. Mire

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for Ms. Ruby Mae Pellerin Mire, 79, who passed away on June 16, 2017 at The Carpenter House of Acadiana in Lafayette. Fr. O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral service. Burial will take place in St. Alphonsus Mausoleum. Ms. Ruby, a resident of Maurice, was the daughter of the late Wallace Pellerin and the former Edna Turner. Ms. Ruby had a tremendous work ethic and worked hard her entire life. She enjoyed the simple things in life, like listening to french music, dancing and helping others. Ms. Ruby was a devout Catholic, attended church every Sunday and will be missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her children, Lisa Venable and husband Todd of Lafayette, Denise Monceaux and husband Pete of San Diego, CA, Della Fontenot and husband Guy of Rayne; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons, Glenn and Carl Mire; grandson, Ryan Monceaux; siblings, Russell and Alton Pellerin and Donna Lavergne. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Maurice on Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 2:00PM to 9:00PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00PM on Sunday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Monday from 8:00AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Guy Fontenot, Pete Monceaux, Rusty Fontenot, Jude Baudoin, Phillip Baudoin and Blake Venable. Honorary Pallbearers will be Todd Venable, Scotty Mire and Ricky Benoit. The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice and The Carpenter House for being so supportive, kind and gentle. Special thanks to Juanita Gonzales and Aimee Baudoin for caring for our mother.
