Scott Wilson Barra

A Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers Lafayette for Mr. Scott Barra who passed away at his residence Saturday, September 6, 2014. Visitation will be held at Delhomme Funeral Home Tuesday September 9, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume Wednesday morning at 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. Father Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seaton Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Scott was born in Baton Rouge, LA on September 25, 1955. Scott was raised and lived his whole life as a resident of Lafayette LA He attended Cathedral Carmel High School and the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL). Scott was an instrumental force in the Cajun Music industry in the Acadiana area. Scott worked as a sound engineer for many local, national, and International music groups that began in the Lafayette area and worked much of his life as an electronics engineer, supervising crews across the nation on computer and sound system installations. Scott recently began working as an armor with Acadiana Gun Works and truly found his passion. He enjoyed Gardening, Competition shooting, and all things Cajun. Scott will be truly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Survivors include his wife, Florence Ryder Barra , his children, Albert Barra and Andree’ Barra, his parents Richard and Maisie Barra as well as his brothers Marc T Barra and his wife Michelle, Dreux Barra and his wife Monique; his sisters, Karen Broussard and her husband Leon, Megan Barra and Lorin Montgomery and her husband Richard. Scott is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Brennan Broussard, Anna and Reilly Montgomery, Camille and Beth Barra, and Laura Ryder.
