Sidney Robert Hebert

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, January 6, 2018 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers - Bertrand for Sidney "Bob” Hebert also known as "Satch", 83, who passed away on January 2, 2018. Bob, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Thomas Hebert and the former Azelie "Hazel" Braud. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Patricia Butcher Hebert; son, Bobby Hebert and wife, Susanah; daughter, Dr. Laura Hebert; grandchildren, Matthew Hebert, Brittney LaCour and husband, Stephen; great-grandchildren, Peyton Hebert, Averie Revett and Zelda LaCour; youngest brother, Curtis Hebert and oldest sister, Nell Pierce as well as his loyal canine companion, Mikey. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters; in-laws, Curtis and Lena Delahoussaye Butcher. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday from 10:00AM until the time of service. Honorary Pallbearers will be Curtis Hebert, Matthew Hebert, Peyton Hebert, Stephen LaCour, Bill Butcher, Bill Owens, Claude Blakely, Buddy Pierce, Carrol Blanchet, Donald Dailey, and Jody Bearb. Bob lettered in football and baseball at Cathedral Carmel and received an athletic scholarship in both sports to SLI. He treasured his high school friendships and looked forward to the monthly luncheons with the Cathedral Alumni. He was a medic in the U. S. Army at Fort Smith and transferred to the National Guard for seven years. Bob was a member of the Lafayette Oilmen's Bass Fishing Club and was proud to have won two major oilfield fishing tournaments: Texas Oilmen's and the Oilmen's Bass Classic. Bob worked in the Oil and Gas industry for over 40 years. Bob was a devoted husband and father, who cherished his family above all.
