Sophie Ann Knode

Funeral Services will be held at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Sophie Ann Knode, 71, who passed away on March 26, 2011 at 11:05 am at Maison De Lafayette. Reverend Louis Richard, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church , will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Knode, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Louis Trahan of Youngsville, Louisiana and the former Mathilde Domec of Cecilia, Louisiana. She enjoyed RV traveling, fishing. She loved to cook, playing cards and bingo. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Ann Smith and her companion Keith McEvoy of Lafayette, Linda Neysa Armijo and her husband Gary of Roundrock, TX, and Suzanne Beauvais Smith and her fiance' Rod A. Doucet of Lafayette; one son William Martin Boyle Smith and wife Souna Osman Smith of Lafayette; one step-son, Art Walters and his wife Kathy of Youngsville; ten grandchildren, Michael Thibodeaux, Samuel Thibodeaux, Rana Thibodeaux, Sofia Thibodeaux, Ian Terry, Lindsey Terry, Stephen Huval, Jeremy Huval, Ashtyn Walters, and Chaz Armijo; four great grandchildren, Kya Thibodeaux, Natalie Thibodeaux, Samuel Thibodeaux, and Isaiah Holliday; two sisters, Velma Roy of Lafayette, and Rosemary Ruffin of Lafayette; two brothers, Nolan L. Trahan of Pasadena, TX, and Johnny Trahan of Youngsville. She was preceded in death by her Parents; 1st husband, William Martin Boyle Smith; 2nd husband, Thaddeus "Bat" Knode. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Monday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will continue Tuesday from 8:00 am until service time. A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 6:00 pm in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be her family members. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dugas, the staff and nurses of Maison De Lafayette, and Paramount Hospice Acadiana for their care and support during her illness.
