AWR3 Stone Hayden Fox, USN

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers (1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA) for AWR3 Stone Hayden Fox, USN, age 19, who passed away on October 1, 2025 in Jacksonville, FL. Family friend and pastor, Reverend Chris Blanchard, will conduct the memorial services. AWR3 Stone Hayden Fox, USN, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of Greg and Kristy Fox. He was born on July 15, 2006, in Baton Rouge, LA. In 2011, the family relocated to Lafayette, where they quickly established roots with a new community of friends. Stone attended Broadmoor Elementary, then went on to complete his middle and high school years at David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy, where he played soccer, and went on to find a love for Cross Country Running. Upon graduation, Stone went on to pursue what came to be one of his proudest accomplishments by joining the military to train as a U.S. Navy Aviation Rescue Swimmer. After completing basic training in the Great Lake, he was then stationed in Pensacola, FL, where he received training in Search and Rescue, and then went on to Jacksonville for Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape training. At the time of his passing, he was additionally training for AWR (Naval Aircrewman Tactical-Helicopter) and was very much looking forward to being “in the air”. He considered serving his country to be the highest honor and spoke highly of his teammates, often commenting about how thankful he was to serve with such exemplary men and women. He always strived to live the Rescue Swimmer’s Motto: “So Others May Live” Stone had a lasting impact on those around him. He truly never met a stranger, and he cared deeply for those he knew. He was always ready with a smile, reliable when a good laugh was needed, and could be counted on to bring his contagious goofiness and BIG hugs into any situation. The definition of a good friend, he could be counted on not only in the easy times, but also the not-so-easy ones. And, finally, Stone was a good son and, most importantly, an incredible big brother to Slade. He was his little brother’s best friend, protector, and confidant, but also never passed up the chance to trade jokes and “insults” when needed. All the things big brothers are supposed to do, Stone did in spades. He loved his family with everything he had and anyone who knew him knew it. Stone is survived by his parents, Greg and Kristy Fox; one brother, Slade; paternal grandparents, George and Lynette Fox; and maternal grandmother, Phoebe Lopez. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to honor his memory. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James (Pep) Lopez. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Honorary pallbearers will be: FC1 Dylan Farmer, AWRAN Race Black, AWRAN Miguel Gutierrez, AWRAN Luke Brown, AWOAN Zach Miller, PFC Caynen Theriot, Slade Fox, John Cole Woods, Beau Istre, Ethan Fox, Jared Fox, Drew Long, Adam Falgout, and Cailin Werner.
